Includes works by J. G. Whittier, Seba Smith on N. American Indians, John B. Newman ETC , The Original Printing of Poes Poem The Raven was also published in 1845 in another Magazine earlier in same Year. Literary Emporium Dec. 1845 is the second appearance of The Raven, though some argue it is the first, both in the same year....This book has gold gilt on covers & spine, 4 raised ribs on spine, general shelf wear, rubbed extremities, bumped corners, previous owners name in pencil on front endpaper, as well as, a very small amount of pencil writing. The tissue guard on frontispeice is torn & creased, age toned pages, slight foxing throughout, tight text block, very good condition considering age.
