Bowie, W. Russell; The Christmas Pageant of the Holy Grail
NEW YORK, ABINGDON, 1927 , PAPER BACK
Overall Condition is: FAIR
good cover. clean endpapers. This pageant was written to be given in a church, and was actually presented at the morning service on the Sunday before Christmas. Its whole purpose and mood are devotional, and the full effect of the pageant can be secured only in surroundings which are worshipful. Whenever reproduced, it should be given, if possible, not in a hall but in a church, and should be presented with as great beauty as circumstances will allow. The Chancel would, of course, need to be of reasonable size and clear of the usual church furniture, such as choir benches, etc. The choir should sit in the body of the church, near the front, and it is they who sing the hymns whcih are introduced in the course of the pageant. major water soiling to pages between title page and page 8, otherwise pages are very clean.
