Sense and Sensibility - Thomson illustrations with Fore-edge Painting in Bumpus Signed Binding Small octavo (4.5x7), 342 pages, Introduction by Austin Dobson, illustrations by Hugh Thomson. Handsomley bound in a fine signed leather binding by Bumpus Ltd., Oxford, with their gilt binder's mark on lower inside front cover. Half grey-green calfskin and light cloth. Gold spine title and decorations in six panels between bands. All edges gilt, marbled endpapers. Engraved cherubic bookplate of Maud King on front pastedown over light baby blue endpapers; bookplate by William P. Barrett (INV WPB 1905). Enhanced with a charming full color Fore-edge Painting, an oval bordered portrait, likely representing Jane Austen, and the other a scene from the book of a drawing room with two characters at a piano.
