Full gilt edges. Gilt title/design on front cover and spine. Gilt lettering of advertiser names/addresses on back cover. Publisher name sticker on front cover. Front/back hinge cracks resulting in spine/some page separation but still intact. Previous owner's book plate laid in on front paste down page. Cover discolortion, soils, shelf, book and edge wear. Corner bends. Bottom front corner edge has small portion of cloth removed. Advertisements and photographs throughtout. In eight parts containing the names of 25,000 Prominent Householders, arranged alphabetically and classified by Streets. To which is added, 10,000 names and post-office addresses of the Elite of over 100 Towns within a radius of twenty-five miles and the names of Officers and Members of the Principal Clubs of Philadelphia and Atlantic City, New Jersey. Elite Directory. Fashionable Private Address Directory, the Ladies' Visiting and Shopping Guide and Philadelphia Club List. The book is not a general directory of the city. It is merely a selected list of householders from the most prominent streets. In addition, Atlantic City was inserted giving a full list of the residences on the principal avenues, obtained by a careful personal canvass.
