Signed by Simon Lake with an inscription. Dj is creased at spine, tear at top edge, lightly rubbed cover, closed tears, rubbed, and chipped. Book has general shelf wear, small bump at bottom edge, and two bookplates. Inscription states, To Charles B Driscoll, Who calls himself the probable descendant from a pirate and has Doublooms and other writings made Pirate Lou a fascinating study. Now why not give an analysis if the cruelty of the Capt. Kiddo & Morgan in comparison with some of the wisdom Pirates which would show that if you are a descendant of a Pirate, he weas probably a kind hearted gentleman and prayed on only a fur of the ??? white modern Pirates prey upon and destroy millions of both the rich & poor. Lake launched the first submarine to operate in open water, the Argonaut, Jr., in 1898. Between 1909 and 1923, Lake built 33 submarines for U.S. Navy and also constructed vessels for European nations.
