Taylor was a member of the Stock Exchange for more than a quarter century. He was elected a governor in 1922 at the age of 30, the youngest man ever to be so named, and he served continuously for 17 years. He was named to the committee on quotations and commissions in 1922 and became its chairman in 1935.
