rear end page has hand written in pen, 1986 This was A. E. 's 1st book. It was part of the flight deal she would be one to go, if she would write of it later. It was in the making of the 'deal' that she met Putnam- the publisher, whom she eventually married, gilt lettering on spine faded, front hinge cracked, corners bumped Title page 1928 & copyright page 1928. Next line this is a copy of the first edition with a facsimile G.P. Putnam signature on the rear of the title page. She completed the first female solo flight across the Atlantic. In 1937 she disappeared in the Pacific during her attempted first female circumnavigation of the globe.
