Bright blue cloth boards with gold imbossed uncle sam with a bat in hand, gold lettering on front and spine. The book has separated from the boards, at back hinge, front hinge is cracked. The spine area is worn. Inside front cover has small book plate. There are many black and white photographs reproduced here. One large fold out of the Polo Grounds in NYC is torn in half. Photographs of all the early players and leagues. Historic facts concerning the beginning evolution, development and popularity of baseball . The text is clean.
